The Silversword is a plant that is exceptionally rare and hard to find, specifically growing in dry hot climates like insides slopes of craters. The plants can live from 3 to 90 years and flower once before they die. At Haleakala and in the craters of the Big Island Volcanoes, these eerily beautiful plants can be admired.
