The Grandview section of New River Gorge has some impressive hiking and some wonderful views. The main overlook of the river, at a height of 1400 feet, allows you to view a bend or oxbow within the river.
A wonderful site to see within the park, more views of the river are available by hiking the Castle Trail, which leaves from this overlook. Following the trail all the way out will take you to some other incredible viewpoints of the river including the Turkey Spur Overlook.
