The largest waterfall on the New River, Sandstone Falls spans a 1500 foot section of river. A series of islands divides the river at the fall and river itself has a drop of 10 to 25 feet at the cascade.
While it may take a while to get to the falls proper, you may be able to view them from a higher vantage on your journey. These wide falls are impressive no matter the season.
